Audio Plugin Deals is giving away the Arturia Tape MELLO-FI effect plugin for instant lo-fi textures as a free download for a limited time.
All good things come in threes like a German singer once said. Arturia already gave away the MELLO-LI effect plugin for Christmas 2021, which was later added to the FX Collection 3. Regular Synth Anatomy readers remember the deal.

Arturia Tape MELLO-FI
Tape MELLO-FI is an authentic tape emulator and lo-fi effect plugin that is based on vintage sound and behavior of the Mellotron V plugin. The effect gives you all the beloved controls you know from classic tape emulators. Including noise, flutter, wow, wear, and mechanics that infuse the vintage, wobbly character in your sounds.
But Arturia goes further and includes other unique features. There is an interactive tape wheel with a tempo-synchronized tape stop with an optional tape catch-up functionality. They also added a 12dB lowpass and highpass filter with which you can customize the character of the sound.
Further, the Tape MELLO-FI also benefits from enhanced stereo width capabilities. This introduces offsets to wow & flutter from left to right for an extra-wide sound.
Arturia ships the plugin with 25 presets giving you instant access to retro and lo-fi effects. The plugin is certainly not super deep but brings nice vintage textures to your sounds with fewer clicks. And if you don’t have FX Collection 3 then you have a plugin of this bundle that gives you a better upgrade price.
You can download Arturia Tape MELLO-FI for FREE ($99 USD value) until November 10th, 2022. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (Intel + Apple Silicon) and Windows.
