Chow Matrix, ChowDSP’s free mighty modular experimental delay plugin for macOS, Windows, and Linux is now also available on iOS with AUv3.
Almost exactly a year ago, ChowDSP released the fantastic Chow Matrix plugin. A free modular delay processor that gives you playroom for insanely deep and complex delay networks.
The developer has a Christmas present for mobile musicians. In addition to macOS, Windows and Linux, the plugin is now also available for on the go on iOS including iPhone and iPad.
Chow Matrix is a free delay on steroids. It uses a modular engine that can be expanded infinitely in delay nodes. Thus one patch can have a single delay node, two, but also 20 and more. Then, each node has dedicated delay time, pan, feedback, gain, lowpass & high pass filters, and a distortion unit. Plus, you can pitch-shifting and diffusion options.
The plugin is capable of creating a wide range of sounds. From subtle, classic multi-tap delay, reverberant space, modulated delays, up to never-ending drones. Chow Matrix also offers a different mode as well as randomizer that allows you create new sounds with a single click.
Best news: this crazy free monster delay plugin is now also available for iOS with AUv3 support.
Chow Matrix is available now as a free download for iOS from the Apple AppStore. You can donate something to the developer with the help of the built-in in-app purchase, which does not add any extra features. It’s just a donation. Chow Matrix is open-source and also runs as a VST, VST3, AU plugin and standalone app on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
