Michał Łapaj (Riverside) left Prog Rock for a short time and devotes himself to electronic music in his analog synth jams.

Here comes proof that the deepest prog-rockers also have a feel for electronic music. Michał Łapaj, the keyboard player of the Polish prog rock/metal band Riverside has released some nice analog synth sessions on his YouTube channel last year. These pieces have very little to do with what Michał actually does in the band Riverside. Fewer synths sound more juicy prog-rock guitar riffs. I like both, including his work on both projects.

The jams combine elements of cinematic scores and Berlin school. Michał used mainly analog synthesizers such as the Sequential OB-6, a vintage Prophet 5, Korg MS-20, Juno 60, and others. Also included was a Korg microKorg which is a popular digital synth.

Are You There Album

In addition to his analog synth jams, Michal has been working on his first solo album “Are You There” in the past few months. This will be out July 16th, 2021 worldwide via Mystic Production. Here is the first song named Shattered Memories which I like a lot.

Michał Łapaj’s analog synth jam sessions are also available on Bandcamp.
