Nembrini Audio Shimmer Delay is a new vintage-inspired delay plugin (plugin & iOS) that turns your sounds into big ambient soundscapes.
I have to admit: I love fluffy ambient sounds that put you in trance and let you dream. To achieve this, I like to use delays and reverbs. Nembrini Audio recently introduced an effects processor that has all of this in one single plugin and iOS app.
Shimmer Delay is marketed as an ambient machine and promises great soundscapes with every signal.
Nembrini Audio Shimmer Delay
Shimmer Delay Ambient Machines offers multiple effects in one. It combines a reverb, pitch shifter, and feedback to create lush out-of-this-world soundscapes and spaces. The algorithm takes inspiration of sound design techniques developed by studio engineers and producers in the early 1980s.
The plugin user interface is very clean and thanks to color-coded controls very intuitive to use. It starts with a dedicated swell section with time, sensitivity, and ramp controls. Then, you have the delay with classic time, offset, feedback, low cut, and high cut.
In the golden middle is the pitch shifter that goes down an octave with adjustable level and regen knobs. The shimmer section is red and has level, distortion, semitones, and regen controls. Last but not least, it features a dry/wet mix knob and a pair of input/output peak meters.
Shimmer Delay is capable to create lush, dreamy sounds from every signal. The developers say that it’s great for guitars, keys, synths, samples, and vocals.
Nembrini Audio Shimmer Delay Ambient Machine is available now for an introductory price of $29 USD (regular $79) for macOS and Windows. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, AAX plugin and requires an iLok software account for registration. The iOS (AUv3) version is available now for $4,99 USD.
