The new Baloran Synthesizer is called The Machin, the features are still top secret, but the first demos give you a first look at the design & sound.

Last September I reported about a new Baloran synthesizer that is currently under development. As a reminder: Baloran is a French developer known for his analog multi-timbral Synthesizer The River.

Laurent Lecatelier (Baloran) is currently working on his second instrument The Machin and it is slowly taking shape. The new videos tell us that the synth will have tons of knobs and a touch display.  A true knob paradise for all knob lovers.

Laurent is currently still making a big secret about the features. Analog, digital, or a hybrid synth architecture, no clear information. You only know that he is currently working on the “The Machin” voice card and that it will have a sequencer.

The new videos give you a good insight into the development of this new synthesizer and the sound. In terms of sound, it does not resemble its flagship Synthesizer The River. Sounds more like a hybrid or a digital one.

One thing is certain: it will not be small, portable and cheap one. It will be a big Synthesizer with a lot of controls for the studios. Laurent will show the synth and all the features probably at SynthFest France SFF (June 4-6, 2021). Looking forward to it.
