Native Instruments has today released Arkhis, a new Kontakt 6 Player powered tool for cutting-edge, orchestral underscores and soundtracks

Arkhis, made in collaboration with Orchestral Tools,  is a specialized instrument for quickly bringing stories on the screen to life. It features high-quality sound content recorded at the Teldex Scoring Stage and available in an easy-to-use interface.

The interface allows you to create tonally-playable textures that can be played, layered, and modulated for gripping, screen-ready soundtracks from 90 stackable, contemporary sound sources. For all who want to be inspired directly without building your own sounds, you get 200 ready-to-use presets including motions, pads, sparkles, stutters, sub, swells, and textures.

Overview

Be it gritty neo-noire or feel-good fantasy, underscoring is the final polish that can make or break a cinematic experience. ARKHIS is a specialized instrument for scoring ultra-modern, orchestral soundtracks that bring scenes to life. Built in collaboration with Orchestral Tools, it unites a premium sample library with an easy to use layering engine that has movement, color, and storytelling in its DNA.

Layer a huge array of tonally-playable instruments to create everything from evolving passages to quick accents for on-screen action. An extensive collection of orchestral and ensemble sounds keep big accompaniments on lock, and solo instruments lend their intimacy to more subtle scoring. Less conventional Hollywood-esque sounds like the waterphone and dulcimer are great for ethereal, and sometimes uncomfortable textures when the story needs it. Recorded at the legendary Teldex Scoring Stage in Berlin, each sound source captures the modern edge ubiquitous to contemporary cinematic scores.

Get from spotting to finished scores fast. ARKHIS is designed to distil underscoring into a workflow that keeps you focused on what’s important – compelling storytelling. Swap instrumentation with a click, dial in effects, and score final passages to picture in real time. Quickly accent dynamic changes in action, and recall themes in subtle new ways as the narrative evolves.

ARKHIS is built around a central playback module that’s quick and easy to use from any MIDI controller. Choose from 90 sound sources to assign to three independently-modulatable layers that can be stacked from left to right using a single morph control. Dial in movement and additional color in real time with the central LFO and FX control for subtle builds in atmosphere, or to create variations on a theme throughout a scene.

Native Instruments Arkhis for Kontakt 6 & Kontakt Player is available now for the introductory price of 149 USD/EUR until August 3rd, 2020 (regular 199 USD/EUR).
