Jareth, one of the beta testers of the upcoming Behringer D Synthesizer released today a new video showing some more features of this new instrument. He demonstrated here the complete interface of the D with all the CV inputs and outputs. He demonstrated this quite nice with the Moog Moogerfooger CP-251 control processor.

This video, I demonstrate the interfacing features available using the CV inputs and outputs on the Behringer Model D. I was using a Moog Moogerfooger CP-251 in this demonstration but many things can be used in its place including other synth modules.

Features:

  • 3 voltage-controlled oscillators
  • 24dB voltage-controlled filter with resonance
  • Filter selectable for lowpass or highpass
  • Noise generator (selectable between White and Pink Noise)
  • Overdrive circuit
  • USB-MIDI plus 5-pin DIN In and Thru
  • CV connectivity
  • Glide (portamento)
  • External audio input
  • Low-output and high-output 1/4″ outs
  • Behringer’s 3-year warranty

There are also some news about the price. A shop from the Netherlands (bax-shop) released on their UK page a price of 454£ (+- 499€) that far more than the expected $299. Uli Behringer released this information on Gearslutz about the price.

We have not set the price yet simply because we haven’t finalized the overall cost which is heavily dependent on the latest BOM (Bill of Material) paired with projected sales and manufacturing quantities. And this all depends on overall market demand which so far has been very promising.

As some recall from my earlier post, unlike most other manufacturers we simply calculate the sales price “bottom up” which means the more we can lower manufacturing cost, the more savings we can pass on to you the customer.

Once we have all sales feedback from our partners and negotiated the component cost with our suppliers, we will be able to announce the final price.
Today, we are confident that the price will not exceed US$ 399 MAP.

We don’t have yet any information if this will be the official retail price for Europe. Stay tuned for additional news.
