NAMM 2022: Audient has beefed up its EVO line with the EVO 16, a new 24 in / 24 out audio interface with 8 pre-amps, HQ converters, smartgain feature & more.
A few days before NAMM 2022, British audio specialists of Audient unveiled the EVO 16 audio interface. The top model from their very solid and affordable EVO interface series. The Evo 4 or 8 are small, compact interfaces with many features that are perfect for many to get started with recording.
With the EVO 16, they take the line to another level and offer a lot in a very tempting overall package
NAMM 2022: Audient EVO 16
The EVO 16 features 24 inputs/outputs whereas 8 are powered by the award-winning EVO preamps with 58dB of gain. Besides state-of-the-art converter technology (121dB dynamic range), the EVO 16 is equipped with the unique Smartgain feature that can adjust the input levels on all 8 channels at the push of a button. This makes it very easy to adjust the levels of your synths or other instruments.
It also features 2 optical inputs and 2 optical outputs (ADAT/SPDIF) that allow you to expand the EVO 16 at any time. So you can add up to 16 extra channels of mic preamps or other compatible gear. The flagship EVO interface offers many interface goodies that you can’t find in the simpler interface.
Starting with a hi-res, full-color screen that gives you a full overview of your signals thanks to the all-new motion UI control system. It allows real-time access to all important functions of the device without ever having to look at the computer. So every user can make all changes in no time and has full control over the recording session.
Software side, it comes with the EVO Mixer which helps you to set up and route inputs and outputs. It works under macOS and Windows.

First Impression
The EVO 16 looks like it has a very exciting audio interface. It has many connections and smart features that are particularly interesting for people who want to work quickly. Also, the price is very fair for what it offers.
