The Plugins
AudioThing Orb is a creative formant filter plugin which simulates of the human voice. The core uses a set of three band pass filters that can transform any sound into a vowel-like formant sound. Three LFOs join the Orb party that can modulate multiple parameters. Plus, you can create your own set of vowels by changing name and frequency for each vowel/formant.
Then we have Audiority Polycomp, a versatile dynamic processor providing three bands of VCA compression. Each band is an independent compressor with its own standard controls (Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Gain) and a three-way switch to bypass or mute each band. You can use in multiple ways: as a corrective compressor, mixbus compressor or as a mastering tool.
Denise My Crush is a bit crusher plugin with advanced features. You can classic controls for the bit reducer, re-sampler as well a stutter fader. These gives you tools in the hand to gradually destroy your sound.
Pulsar Audio Smasher is an unprecedented custom modification of the classic Urei 1176 compressor circuit expanded with some new features. Instead of modeling yet another 1176 software emulation, the developers focused on the all button or British mode from the hardware units that led you create distorted, explosive and highly compressed sounds.
While remaining very close to the original circuitry, the modifications Pulsar have built into Smasher will add definition to transients and make your tone more aggressive.
Important: you get NFR versions, so you cannot resell your copy. Another nice deal, I think I would choose the AudioThing Orb, I would produce very weird sounds with it.
