Waldorf Nave

Nave is advanced wavetable Synthesizer plugin with up to 32 voices. It features two independent advanced wavetable oscillators with up to 8-oscillator Überwave and two ring modulators. Wavetables can be edited in a lovely 3D editor and new ones can be generated from any external audio file. A highlight for me is the built-in speech Synthesizer with which you can synthesize your voice.

Then, it comes with a multimode filter, three envelopes, 2 LFOs, and a 10-slot modulation matrix. It also includes a fully adjustable drive with curve, depth, and position settings and a multi-effects processor. The latter has effects such as chorus, flanger, phaser, reverb, and modulation delay. Plus, you have a three-band parametric equalizer and compressor.

The plugin is playable with a traditional keyboard, optional chord mode, and touch plates with musical scales. It also ships with an arpeggiator, supports polyphonic aftertouch, and three mappable X/Y pads. Pretty handy is the ability to exchange sound patches with the Nave version on iPad.

It’s a big deal because Nave is a very unique wavetable synth. For me, Nave can’t be compared to Serum or Massive. It gives you the well-known Waldorf sound but in modern with many great features. And users of the iOS app can make patches on the iPad and import them into the plug-in or vice versa.

Waldorf Nave is available now for 44€ instead of 156€ and runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS and Windows.

  1. It’s such an underestimated and extremely capable synth. For me it was the first synth that made me feel that iOS music instruments were not toys but something to sit up to and take more seriously. I then made the jump with it to Mac AU and use it nearly every session. At this sale price it’s a genuine no-brainier. Get it, you’ll not be disappointed.
