Dreadbox, the boutique analog synth specialists from Athens have four new effects pedals in the pipeline including a stereo delay & reverb.

As some have noticed, I’m trying to get more effects pedals on my channels. Since they contribute a lot of character to the final sound and are just fun, there will be more of them in the future on SYNTH ANATOMY. A little teaser: a very cheap but also a flagship multi-effects processor are already ready for testing.

As if Dreadbox had looked into my mind, there are signs today that they are now making again an excursion into their past. Yes, Dreadbox was a pedal manufacturer, in the beginning. They tease four new effects pedals on the official website. Thanks, Cryss Synthient from the lovely weekly Pro Synth Network videocast for the news.

Dreadbox New Effects Pedals

Dreadbox New Pedals

Still unrecognizable in the photo, there will soon be 4 new effect pedals. One of them, KOMOREBI, a chorus/flanger pedal has been around for some time. It’s a full analog BBD chorus-flanger with 3 LFO waves and patch points for modular users.

If you move the mouse pointer over the photo, you will see which pedals it will be. The release will include a new stereo delay/looper (left light blue), a stereo reverb (dark blue), an 8-stage phaser (mauve), and a compressor filter combo (baby blue). The feature is still a secret. But we may see another collaboration with Sinevibes, who have already provided the effects for the Typhon Synthesizer. That would be a big thing.

There is not much information available at the moment. I’m really looking forward to these new effects pedals from Yiannis & Dimitra of Dreadbox. The timing of this is perfect, at least for me. All details and sound demos will follow on release

Dreadbox Komorebi is available for 199€. Other pedals will be announced soon.

  1. i love komorebi, though i wish they had kept the flip switches that the original 15v version had, have to tweak the synth a bit with teh filter to remove some of that added low end chorus adds sometimes [or whatever it is]. but its damn wicked. and you can use it as a third oscillator too! it tracks weird but it works.
