Eventide UltraTap is the standalone pedal version of the well-known UltraTap algorithm, which is more than just another multi-tap delay.

Eventide presented the MicroPitch pedal on Thursday. An article is online, and many YouTubers have also made video demos about it. Two YouTubers leaked another new dot9 pedal. The UltraTap delay, which we already know as an algorithm of the H9 pedal and as a plugin for PC, Mac & iOS, now also comes in a standalone pedal.

Something in the PR and marketing department must have gone wrong with this release. But now it’s official. (13/04/2021 update)

All three dot9 pedals share the same hardware and interface layout. 6 controls, “Alt” push button switch, and two foot switches. However, each pedal has a different algorithm. UltraTap is a versatile multi-tap delay that is capable of a wide range of sounds.

From rhythmic delays, wacky comb filtering, huge pad-like volume swells, to unique reverbs. And of course, everything in between that has to be heard and is difficult to describe. It can act as a complex delay, ambient reverb, or unique modulation effect. Eventide UltraTap

Then, you have a TRS input (option with mono or stereo operation), two TS outputs (stereo or dual mono), and an expression output. Plus, you have a MIDI input, mini USB port, and witches for the input level (Line and Hi-Z) on the rear.

Second Level

Like the Blackhole and MicroPitch Delay, the UltraTap pedal also has a second parameter level. Here you have Slurm, Chop, Spread, and Taps with up to 64 taps. Further, it has a built-in LFO and different envelopes that give you even more sound design scope. Also, you can recall 127 user presets via MIDI and save 5 presets on the pedal itself.

The UltraTap Delay algorithm is one of my favorite algorithms in the H9 pedal. I am very pleased that it will soon also be available as a standalone pedal here and has hands-on control without an extra app.

Eventide UltraTap will be available in April for 379,61€ (RRP)
