Roland ‘s Zenology virtual instrument gets the next model expansion in the shape of the legendary Jupiter-8 polyphonic Synthesizer from 1981

The Summer belonged to Roland so far. They have constantly expanded their new Roland Zenology platform with numerous model expansions. So far, it includes models of the JX-8P, SH-101, and iconic Juno-106 Synthesizer. With the new Jupiter-8, Roland has today released their latest addon.

It’s not a classic plugin with a big shiny GUI but a component for the ZEN Core engine, which is available in Roland hardware as well as in software in the form of the Zenology Synthesizer plugin. This means: an authentic sound of a well-known vintage synth packed in a simple but also a bit boring GUI. It has something good: you are not distracted from the true sound by a high-resolution interface.

Roland Jupiter-8 Model Expansion

Released in 1981, the JUPITER-8 is one of the most revered polysynths of all time. Its lush, complex sound is on more hit songs than you can count, and its massive analog voice is simply unmatched when it comes to warm pads, strings, and lead tones. With the JUPITER-8 Model Expansion, the authentic sound of this vintage icon is now available for your DAW and compatible ZEN-Core hardware.

The JUPITER-8 Model Expansion captures the essence of its vintage inspiration with astonishing realism and authenticity. With expanded polyphony and a boldly modern interface, it delivers the unique sound and experience of the original hardware—without the expense and maintenance.

Features

  • Model Expansion for ZENOLOGY and compatible ZEN-Core hardware
  • Authentic JUPITER-8 sound and behavior
  • Clear, intuitive interface for free-flowing production
  • Expanded polyphony versus the original hardware
  • Swap Model Expansions and load sounds instantly
  • Set the condition of your virtual JUPITER-8 to ultra-vintage or pristine

It’s important to mention that these expansions (incl. Jupiter-8) are already pre-installed in the Roland Jupiter-X & Jupiter-Xm. Roland Jupiter-8 Model Expansion is available as part of the Pro and Ultimate Roland Cloud subscription or as a lifetime key for $149 USD which is not cheap especially for hardware users.
