Kim Bjørn’s well-known Patch & Tweak modular synthesis reference book is getting a continuation that is dedicated to the semi-modular synths of Moog.

In times of video portals like YouTube or social media (Facebook, Twitter …) we are bombarded with information about synthesizers. There is more every second. Physical magazines but also books are those who suffer from this. However, I have to admit that a lovely designed, well-written book on the shelf is still as beautiful as something digital. You can have a look at it at any time and discover new things without a subscription, advertising, etc. It’s vintage and has its charm.

The synthesizer book market is growing and that’s nice. It is something that lasts forever and does not disappear after a while. Among the most recent exciting writers in this field is Kim Bjørn who recently published three deeply elaborated books about gear: one about gear, one on modular synthesis, and the third on guitar pedals. Thanks to their simple and intuitive structure, all of these books are like navigators for the colorful forest of the music tech world. Not only recommendable for professionals but also for beginners.

To round off this next exciting synthesizer book from Kim Bjørn, there is an opening with a foreword from Synthesizer collector, film score composer, and sound designer Hans Zimmer. I’m looking forward to reading this new book and maybe get inspired by the patch ideas.
