Puremagnetik gives you Strata tape loop / granular VST/AU plugin for free if you support the new album from Chris Child and Micah Frank on Bandcamp
Just recently I wrote about Puremagnetik that they had a new music release and rewarded every support on Bandcamp with a free delay plugin. This seems to have worked. They have released today another new record (Tape Pieces Volume 2 by Chris Child and Micah Frank) and again offers for every support a free plugin.
Strata is a tape loop emulator and granular (particle) processor that can warp, bend, dissect, and “analog age” all types of incoming audio. It’s inspired by both microsound and tape music.
The plugin can be used as a simple ad-hoc buffer looper or you can build complex sound sculptures by putting it in “ADD” mode and tweaking the grain controls. It sounds like a plugin with which you can reshape sound relatively quickly and give it a special analog tape-like character.
Puremagnetik Strata is free and comes with Chris and Micah’s Tape Pieces Volume 2 – also free (name your price) on Bandcamp. It requires OSX 10.8+ or Windows 10 x64 and is available as an AU and VST plugin.
