Erica Synths newest addition to its Fusion Eurorack module series is a vacuum tube-based VCA sonically pimped with a waveshaper & ring modulator
Erica Synths has today expanded its Fusion tube-based module series again. Erica Synths VCA is the possible successor of the Fusion VCA but expanded with twice the tubes, waveshaping section, and ring modulator. The module can be described as a complex analog modulation source because it goes beyond a simple VCA. The module features a vacuum tube based VCA with two different modes:
Direct for a warm dual-channel valve VCA with a good amount of drive feeding to the mixed output. Biased and with the help of the two BIAS knobs, you adjust the different grid voltages of the tubes that makes the character of the VCA through waveshaping and reverse response. On top, a cross-fader is included that adjust the mix of the audio inputs.
Ringmod
The ring modulator section includes two inputs that can be used in a versatile way. For example, it can act like a waveshaper if you plug different waveforms from the same VCO in the inputs. If nothing is plugged into the ring mod inputs then the audio comes from the main input.
