Erica Synths’ Fusion Modulator is a complex analog modulation source including Synthi inspired envelopes, VCA, noise generator, and sample & hold.
Erica Synths has not only expanded its Fusion module series today with a new filter (VCF3) but also with a new complex modulation module. Fusion Modulator is a multi-functional analog modulation source that offers three functions: two EMS Synthi functionality inspired looping envelopes, VCA, noise generator, and sample & hold. Like in the original synth, the envelopes can be used as regular AD envelopes but also in combination with a gate that can be turned on via the ON/OFF controls.
On is like a hold and with the OFF control, you can adjust the space before the next envelope begins. If you manipulate these 4 controls, you can create very interesting looping envelopes, pulses, and LFOs. Thanks to an additional BP bipolar output (-5v to +5v), you can use the envelopes also better as LFOs. Further, it includes an EOC (End Of Cycle) output which sends out +5v
VCA, S&H & Noise Generator
Fusion Modulator also includes a built-in VCA for either audio or CV signals. The VCA is here normalled to the bipolar output of the left envelope generator. If you don’t patch the input, the output is the LFO signal. Also onboard is a sample & hold generator that can be controlled via two knobs: rate & CV input level. By default, it is normalled to the internal noise generator but the module allows you to patch a different signal into it via the CV input socket. The rate of the S&H can also be controlled via an external clock.
The last function of the FM is a white noise generator with matching output. Nice is here that it also includes an S&H+BP output which combines the S&H with the output of the envelope generator.
