Zero-G E.V.E – Extreme Vocal Environments is a sample based instrument for the full version of the Native Instruments Kontakt 5 sampler. The library, created by Si Begg is delivered with 1.1 GB of sound content, which focuses mainly on human voices (100 loops).

The samples are built into a newly designed three channel Kontakt 5 engine where you can set one looped sample per channel. Each of the three channels comes with:

  • an amp envelope (ADSR), a sample section (pan, volume, pitch, speed…)
  • drive effect and reverb effect
  • a low- & bandpass filter with resonance and a dedicated filter envelope (ADSR)
  • IR effect processor with a wide range of impulse responses

Zero-G E.V.E Extreme Vocal Environments

The E.V.E library consists of 100 human voice loops which cover a wide range of sound types: from alien burbles, male/female choirs, glitching textures… It comes to life with the help of the Kontakt 5 engine that lets you mix three samples at the same to one big sound. On top, you can pitch-shift, time-stretch, filter and add modulation to the sounds.

In the end, all three sounds come together and can be refined with an 85 IR file big convolution reverb and a master filter.

What can the user expect? In E.V.E friends of playable and beautiful drones, soundscapes and texture will get their money’s worth. One thing is certain: simple bass or lead sounds do not exist here. With the intuitive-to-use Kontakt 5 interface, you can build very easily complex vocal soundscapes. Since you can freely combine samples, the sound possibilities are almost endless. On top, the included impulse responses give you even more options to design sounds.

On the whole, E.V.E was convincing in the test with high-quality sample content, a rich palette of vocal timbres as well as with a creative interface. Friends of deep soundscapes and textures will love this virtual instrument. E.V.E is in my opinion, a true vocal soundscape machine!
