If you are into the composition of experimental electronic music and software, than Giorgio Sancristoforo is certainly a household name to you. If not, Giorgio is designing very special and unique software instruments for macOS. He is known per example for Berna, a software emulation of a late 1950s electro-acoustic music studio. Today, he released the fourth version of its excellent Gleetchlab DAW Looper software for macOS. With Gleetchlab, you can press audio files as well as live sound sources in realtime.

Gleetchlab is not just a simple looper but have advanced features like random loop points for the samples, realtime time stretch, granular & modal synthesis, process files like jpg, pdfs and more. If you search a big powerful tool for few dollars than check out this new release. It’s a fantastic sound design tool with endless possibilities.

Gleetchlab is a modular DAW designed to process audio files and live sound sources in realtime. Unlike traditional DAWs Gleetchlab does not use a “timeline”, instead you process and record sound as it plays and quickly store every  parameter into ten easy-to-recall presets.

You can process samples with random loop points, change speed and direction of playing without limits, make realtime timestretch, granular and modal synthesis, process the sound of files such as jpg, pdf, tif, doc. use unconventional neural distortion or a clone of the old Gristleizer, use spectral delay, spectral gate or filterbank, play with hudereds of modal resonators in different materials, also exotic or rare like sapphire, platinum and beryl and create hyper-realistic sounds. Also you can record and re-record endlessly each processed sound into the 6 stereo loopers or process sounds coming from your audio interface (up to 8 INS) and last but not least, use a quadraphonic surround mixer/recorder.

Gleetchlab v.4 is now available for macOS for 15€
