The new version is completely redesign and comes with many new features. The sound engine is based on wavetable synthesis and a sampler module. These engine is powered by 46 high-quality filters and by a huge modulation section. Beside this, it comes with 24 build-in effects processors. ANA 2 is a great further development in my opinion and has farther a straightforward design.
