Alexey Nadzharov Updated Soundfruuze To V.1.1 With AUv3 Support, Sound Engine Improvements & More

Alexey Nadzharov released recently soundfruuze, a very interesting experimental granular sampler for iOS. Today, the developer released an update with cool additions. Biggest new feature is the AUv3 support that works now as AUv3 effect. Beside this, the developer improves the sound quality, optimised the workflow and fix some bugs. In my opinion an excellent new update that brings some fresh air to the iOS world.

‘soundfruuze’ is an exprerimental live sampler / looper / granular and FFT scrub effect. It records live the recent 10 seconds of audio and allows you to manipulate it with special controls.. The interface is divided into five “lanes”, sound is produced by touching the lanes. Each lane can be set up to use different effect and has various control parameters mapped to the touch position

New in version 1.1. 

  • basic AudioUnit v3 support – now works as AUv3 effect*
  • improved sound quality:
    • FFT scrub algorithm improved. “random phase” parameter default value changed to 50%
    • scratch smooth parameter fixed. You may note the different sound for previously saved presets as the “smooth” parameter value now behaves differently. You can achieve the sound of v1.0 in scrub effect with “smooth 60%” value.
    • better interpolation for granular effects
  • UI optimisations and fixes:
    • ‘auto B’ button state stored within layouts
    • double tap on any slider returns it to its default value
    • the same double tap action works for looper’s speed and volume sliders
  • sound engine performance optimizations
  • several bugfixes
  • current limitations for AudioUnit version:
    • no parameter / preset saving
    • limited sample rate support
