Surprising news came today from Air Music Technology, the software company from the inMusic brand (AKAI, Air Music Tech, M-Audio…) Air Music Tech released today Loom II Synthesizer, a further development of their excellent modular additive Synthesizer for Windows and Mac. One of the most requested feature is now available in the new version, it features now 8 voices synth engine. The engine was also amply improved and equipped with new features. A new spectral noise section allowing now a secondary oscillator to replace or enrich the additive spectrum with a noise spectrum. The new engine comes also now with 4 new modules: 5-sines, discrete adder, hype and double wave. Also the subharmonic department has been extended with two new additional subharmonic optional partials.

For the musicians and not the sound designers among you, Air Music Tech has installed 500 new ready-to-use presets in Loom II. There are also changes in the price structure. So you can now buy a Loom classic version (v.1) as well as Loom II. If you like to check out Loom without losing to much money and don’t need in the first time the new features, I recommend to do this. Later you can upgrade to the new Loom II version for a better price.

Since the first version came on the market, I was a big fan of this Synthesizer since he has something new that one does not find so often. Here, for example, does not work with oscillators like classic but with partials. If you are working inside, you can build very complex and interesting sounds.
