Junkie XL released just before the weekend a new episode of his Studio Time series. Normally, he demonstrated his gear by explaining them their big features. In this new video’s it’s different. For this new release, he demonstrated his big 5U modular Synthesizer system with an amazing performance. Must see video in my opinion.

Can’t you get similar complex sounds using things like Serum or Falcon or other soft synths with more control and ease to save patches. Having never really played with any modular stuff, it’s hard for me to understand why you would want to fill up a room with so much relatively expensive gear if a laptop can accomplish similar results. Besides the feeling of physical knob twisting, what’s the point? Please don’t take this as an insult. I truly would like to understand. If I am missing a wonderful experience, I want t know.
