Apple released today beside the new iPads also an updated macOS product range. The new iMac’s 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs includes now brighter displays, new Intel Kaby Lake processors and faster storage. Also the Macbook Pro’s from 2016 got a major update with new Kaby Lake CPU’s, faster SSD’s and Graphics.
All these news sounds great but unfortunately music producers with the MacBook Pro’s still look further into the tube due of a massive power problem. Many users hoped for this new updated versions for more RAM but Apple disappointed us again. The new MacBook Pro’s 2017 features only 16 GB of RAM and doesn’t allow to upgrade to 32 GB. This is for me a massive disappointment because music producers loves to use the MacBook Pro because it’s portable and powerful. But without 32 GB of RAM, big music productions with big sample libraries and VST instruments will be still a big problem with these machines.
In summary, it’s great to see that these machines finally features the new Kaby Lake processors from Intel, faster SSD’s but a very thumb down for the Ram amount. Check below for all the news.
