AUv3 is probably one of the most important topics in the iOS world. We have hosts, countless synthesizers and more. What is rarer, are good AUv3 drum machines. Elliot Garage (EG WaveShaper …) has now closed this gap somewhat with the EG Pulse. It is a drum machine that can be used both in standalone or hosted as AudioUnit. EG Pulse features a creative sequencing section but also a complete engine with which you can design own sounds
Among other things, it allows to import samples via drag & drop, manipulate them (sample start, attack time…) or creating own drumkits. Samples can be loaded on the 16 pads which can be also pitched and panned in the mixer section. On top, you can set reverb, delay, and EQ individually.
Each pattern can be automated to obtain dynamic changes and with the probability mode, you can create always new grooves adding randomization and human feel to them. For a smooth start, many samples and drum kits from good known beatmakers and producers are included.
EG Pulse is another drum machine for iOS but it does something different: it is AUv3 compatible as an instrument and thus usable in DAWs like Auria Pro or Cubasis.
