FingerSonic Announced AnalogFusion – A New Hybrid Polyphonic Synthesizer!

AnalogFusion is a new hybrid polyphonic Synthesizer that combines two analog engines (6 voices + 1 bass engine) & a powerful digital engine (virtual analog, FM & wavetable) in one instrument!

Almost always you have to choose whether you like an analog or digital Synthesizer. Analog as digital synths have their advantages and disadvantages. So you should decide which sound you are looking for or you can take a synth like the new AnalogFusion that can do both. FingerSonic, known for the portable EXP1 Synthesizer as well as the new FM Synth SYNSET, will present at this year’s SoundMiT in Torino a new hybrid polyphonic synth.

AnalogFusion features a 6 voices discrete analog engine, a separate analog bass engine as well as a powerful digital engine. The digital section can be operated in a virtual analog, FM (6 operators) or wavetable synthesis mode. On top of this, it comes with a 10 parts digital drums sections.  Both engines are powered by filters, several LFO’s, envelopes, 14 parts sequencer and 3x arpeggiators. At first glance, the AnalogFusion looks like the developer has built his previous developments into a large Synthesizer and added features to it.

Unfortunately, the sound demos in the video of the prototype do not say much in my opinion. Nonetheless, if you want to see the prototype in action, you are invited to visit SoundMit in Torino on 3-4 Nov, 2018.

Overview

AnalogFusion is a top notch, no compromise instrument with 2 completely separated Analog and digital Synthesizer engines. You decide wether creating warm analog sounds or pure digital or layer them. Massive features unlocking access to a new world of synthesis possibilities.

The polyphonic analog Synthesizer engine (6 voices) was developed to provide all the features you can dream off and usually find on prestigious vintage Synthesizers. Each voice is composed with 2 oscillators (3 waveforms: Saw, Pulse, Triangle) with PWM, 3 LFO’s, hard sync, ring modulation, multimode filter, white and pink noise generators. The Oscillators are detunable. All the analog circuitry is made with discrete components, no FPGA or ASIC.

Additionally to its pure analog synthesis section, AnalogFusion also offers a complete digital synthesis engine capable of doing Virtual Analog (2 oscillators, multimode filter, 2 envelopes, 3 LFO), FM (6 operators with multimode filter for each voice) or wavetable synthesis. A dedicated drum section is also present with 10 instruments.

A layer mode allows to stack the analog and digital Synthesizers, a perfect fusion to create incredibly fat sounds! A massive panel with encoders, buttons and all the knobs you want gives you the ultimate control on all the parameters of this amazing instrument. A color LCD with an intuitive interface let you see each and every parameter at a glance.

Arpeggiators, Sequencer & FX Processor

A 14 track step sequencer and 3 powerful arpeggiators are integrated. A switch and a knob allow to set the gain or mute each track easily for live sessions. A song mode is also available to assemble your patterns and make a complete song. An FX section (digital) is present providing delay, chorus and distortion. This section was designed to be fully bypassable to allow pure analog output if needed.

Complete & Professional Connectivity

The presence of USB, MIDI and CV/Gate allows the instrument to be interfaced with the widest range of instruments and devices and become a key part of your DAW. In addition to the MIX and HEADPHONES plugs, separated audio outputs are available for each part of the synth (analog synth, analog bass, digital synth and drums) allowing you to record their raw ouput and apply your own external effects for example.
