8. Mordax GXN Granular Sampler

The Nebuale Granular Sampler is likely to face competition this year. Already at NAMM /Superbooth 2018, the Eurorack developer Mordax presented the GXN, a new granular sampler module for the Eurorack format. It still full under development, but it will be launched at the end of this year.

Since the module is still under development, there is currently now detailed information on the complete feature set, but the developer has already give some information about it.

The GXN will be a sample recorder & playback device that can be used a traditional polyphonic player but also as complex sample granulator. It will have features for live buffer capture and processing, full external CV control over all parameters routable via modulation assignment as well as internal modulation sources.

Mordax is planning the release of the GXN by end of this year with a price of less than $600 USD. There is not much that can be said about the GXN at the moment, but if all this is done, it will be a serious competitor for the Nebuale module. Looking forward to hear all the features and play with it.

    • Yes! A pacarana or paca are still the most powerful granular synthesizers on this planet. And the symbolic sound implementation of granular synthesis sounds very good because of the technical background they have and how the algorithms are implemented on a real DSP plattform.
