Big news coming from Sweden. It’s not from Elektron this time but from IKEA and Teenage Engineering. Both Swedish companies teamed up and have developed together new music products. In 2017, the company worked hard on the first prototypes and are ready to unveil them very soon.

If one looks first at this partnership, one immediately thinks of new Synthesizer products that are on IKEA shelves. But it will not be like that. Both companies are working on party products.

The FREKVENS Collection

The new range of products will be named the FREKVENS (Frequency) collection that will include sound systems as well as decorative items. They plan to release different products that are necessary and needed to set up a party on the go.

“We know that for younger people spontaneity is key,” says Michael Nikolic, the creative leader at IKEA Range & Supply. “Together with Teenage Engineering, we want to explore the possibilities of bringing the party with you and what else you need for a great party.”

The FREKVENS collection will be available in February 2019.
