BASSalicious Review & Sound Demo

BASSalicious is a Synthesizer specially developed to creating deep bass sounds. The developers used here a True-To-Source (TTS) method to create this emulation. This advantage of this technology is that they can keep all the richness of the true source and can avoid aliasing. On the synthesis side, it includes different oscillator types and waveforms ranging from more classic once more interesting wavetables. Than it includes standard envelopes for the filter/amp and a quite normal LFO. The interface includes everything you need for making bass sounds.

Verdict

BASSalicious, I will put between the light and the shadow because it has some good sides but also some points where I’m not happy with it. From the sound side, it’s a decent sounding virtual analog Synthesizer but unfortunately it doesn’t have that noble and creamy sound quality to reach other high-end synth plugins like the U-he DIVA or Synapse Audio The Legend. The synthesis structure is very easy designed and even synth novices will understand it very fast. Each factory sound doesn’t have the same sound character but offers different timbres that fits good in every electronic music production.

With what I have problems are the included features of this virtual analog bass synth. I miss especially here a simple sequencer or arpeggiator that gives musicians the possibility to create very quick bass sequences. Beside this melodic part, I miss also a complete effect section to refine the bass sounds. Effects like a distortion, waveshaper, delay or reverb can here enhance a lot the sound quality of every sound. Also an EQ and compressor section would be here favourable to design the possible timbre. Not to forget, I would wish also in a new version, a function for GUI resizing because currently the new features take up too much space.

In short: a decent sounding  bass Synthesizer with some major sonic problems but with a lot of potential in the future.

The VST Buzz Vintage Keys Bundle By Gospel Musicians is now available for 99€ (instead of 500€) until January 16th, 2018.
