Back on SuperBooth, Urs Heckmann announced the Repro-5, a polyphonic version of the excellent Repro-1 Synthesizer plugin. A few months have now passed and the company announced just before the weekend the official public beta version. It was already longer available for the internal testers but it’s available for everyone. The Repro-5 features and reproduced accurately the famous sound of the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 analog polyphonic Synthesizer.
On the floors of the Superbooth 2017, Urs Heckmann doesn’t have yet informations about the prices but what they announced today is a big deal for owners of the Repro-1 but also for new users. Owners of the Repro-1 will receive Repro-5 as an update that is free of charges. (Amazing move from the company!) New users can buy it until December 31st, 2017 in a special Repro Bundle (Repro-1 & Repro-5) for $99 USD. After this introduction offer it will be $149 USD. Don’t miss to check out the beta version and if you want to save money, than buy it in the beta phase because U-he doesn’t make a lot of sales.
We are pleased to start the public beta for Repro-5. Repro-5 shares a lot of sonic DNA with Repro-1, but draws inspiration from an even more iconic vintage synthesizer. You will find the familiar rough and raw sounds of Repro-1, but with a few differences, new flavours and characteristics. Most notably, of course, is polyphony.
Beside the new Repro-5, U-he also released a new version of Repro-1 Synthesizer with new features, improvements and bug fixes.

- MacOS High Sierra – folders and presets unsorted if using APFS.
- Mac only – selecting presets could crash Cubase under special circumstances.
- Win only – VST3 wasn’t remembering preset name in main display.
- Notes mysteriously disappearing in some hosts.
- Sustain Pedal – pitch was jumping to highest note after release.
- Clock source in Key mode – sequence was resetting to first step with each note.
- Improved playability of sequencer in Key mode.
- VST3 was not updating some graphics while recording sequences.
- Using clear while recording a sequence was not restarting from step one.
- With slow clock rate, last played step would not stop immediately when releasing the key.
- Sequence A/B now switches only after current sequence has finished.
- Arp/Seq rate wrong when using different sample rates for project and rendering.
- Notes were played legato even if they did not overlap.
- Various small fixes and improvements.
- Known Issues:
- Win only – Gamma setting only changing after reopening GUI.
- Repro-5 NKS preset maps the wrong parameters (saving new fixes it).
- Switching HQ creates a temporary DC offset.
The new Repro v1.1 beta version that features Repro-5 is available for Windows and macOS exclusively from the official u-he forum at KVR forum. U-he Repro-1 and Repro-5 will available in a bundle product at the end of the beta period. During the testing time, you can buy Repro that includes Repro-1 & Repro-5 for $99 USD. After this period, the regular price will be $149 USD ex. taxes. Owners of Repro-1 will release Repro-5 as free update.
