Dmitry Sches Diversion Synthesizer and Tantra effect processor are excellent plugins that offers different sound timbres than normal plugins. Today, the developer unleashed his latest development. THORN is a super versatile spectral Synthesizer for PC & Mac with an straightforward interface design and a lot of  sonic possibilities. All three oscillators are based on a spectral synthesis method that allows you control all individual harmonics of each oscillator. This gives sound designers an endless playground because you can design your own oscillator sounds. On top, you can apply frequency modulation (FM), ring modulation (RM), PWM and hard sync on each oscillator.

The oscillators goes than inside a harmonic filter with you can shape your sound even further and even more interesting deep sounds. If you modulate this parameter, you can very interesting evolving sounds. You have here the option to choose of the pre-build filter presets or design your own harmonic filter. Endless harmonic filters are here possible. Than you have a big amount of different more standard high-quality filters and a complete modulation section (3 ADSR envelopes, 3x LFO’s, 2 multistage envelopes and more). On top you receive a very crazy glitch sequencer that allows you create stutter and glitch effects. Beside this it features a very flexible 16 step arpeggiator. All these are rounded up by a great selection of good sounding effects.

I had the chance to great a big sound demo of this new Synthesizer plugin. After my first day with THORN, I can say that this Synthesizer is very strong and offers almost endless possibilities. The glitch effect sequencer gives the whole a very experimental charm. For a current introduction price of $69 USD, this new Synthesizer from Dmtry Sches is an absolute no-brainer.

Thorn offers 3 oscillators that utilize spectral synthesis method. This gives you control over all harmonics involved into the generation process of your sound. The oscillator provides sets of spectral and real-time effects to shape harmonics further. Of course FM, RM, PWM, Hard Sync implemented too.

Sound sources organized as spectrum tables of 16 frames with ability to edit and morph harmonics. The spectral synthesis gives ability to “post-process” all the generated harmonics with a special filter to colorize the output.

Two multi-mode, analog modeled filters with sensitive saturation stages available to charge your sounds and make it shine through the mix. There are 9 high quality effects, 3x ADSR envelopes, 3x LFOs, 2x multistage envelopes at your service in Thorn. 16-step flexible arpeggiator with MIDI output to generate rhythmic sequences available as well.

Additionally, Thorn provides a grid-based Glitch sequencer for maximum fun. Chop your sounds with the sequencer to get modern glitchy, stuttering effects.

THORN for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/AAX) is available now for the introduction price of $69 USD until December 31st, 2017 (regular $119 USD). A free demo version is available for download from the official website.
