GeoShred, a new highly expressive instrument based on physical modelling, developed in collaboration with Jordan Rudess, received a great free update. With the new update 2.5, the app can be used as full MIDI-MPE controller app. MPE is a new MIDI based technology that gives musicians full per-note expression. Compared to standard controller, MIDI-MPE instruments allows musicians to compose in a even more creative and expressive way. Beside this amazing add-on, the developers added also a new sympathetic string resonator to the engine and added support for backing tracks via the iTunes Library.
GeoShred is in my opinion one of these apps which show the power of iOS music apps and demonstrate well why an iPad can be an excellent instrument.
