Grayscale introduced today a new dual algorithmic oscillator for the Buchla format based on the great Mutable Instruments Braids digital oscillator. The complete engine is approved by Mutable Instruments and is in my opinion an excellent new generator for the Buchla format because it brings a lot of of new sound colours to this format. The price is for also very fair because one Braids module cost around 349€, so it’s a bit more than 100€ to pay for this Buchla version.

Grayscale is now developing modules that are compatible with the Buchla 200/200e series. The lineup will include original designs along with adaptations of the open-source modules created by Mutable Instruments and others. A full website is coming soon. Until then, visit ModularGrid for a preview of what’s in development.

The first release is the Dual Algorithmic Oscillator, based on Braids by Mutable Instruments. The price of the module is $750. Preorder now to ensure that you get a module from the first batch. The remaining $500 is due in October, when the modules are ready to ship.
